This is a poem by Jennae Cecelia. I chose this poem in relation to the Humes course because teenagers, especially girls are impacted by social norms and what is perceived as cool. However, I feel that this poem goes deeper than materialistic, worldly things such as parties, but expands to our own existence. The body is meant for our existence on earth, but what happens beyond our time here. I feel that Cecelia wants to talk about issues and topics beyond worldly affairs. In relation to the Humes class I feel the poem touches on subjects beyond materialistics issues. Such as devolving into systematics racism and Rwandan genoicde rather than being content talking about the news celebrity drama. Recognizing how history exists can help tie into the plane of existence and why we are here.
